The Nokia N81 was announced a while ago, together with the new Ovi and Ngage platoform of Nokia. The Nokia N81 will soon reach the shops and that means it is time for Mobile Phone Helpdesk to thoroughly examine the possibilities of this slider.
Compact and no fumbling
The Nokia N81 feels very compact and can be named quite small for a device that has such a large display. The display offers 16 million colours and is very bright and clear. The trusted Nokia interface can clearly be seen in this and is, as always, very clarifying and userfriendly.

Some mobile phones are equipped with numerous quick keys at the side. The Nokia N81 does not fit this description, the Finnish manufacturer has namely kept everything easy with this slider. At the left side of the Nokia N81 there is not one single quick key to be found. However, this side of the slider is equipped with a speaker.

The right side of the Nokia N81 is equipped with some quick keys. Besides a second speaker, which forms stereo speakers with the other one, an extra quick key is placed here and a key to adjust the volume. Furthermore, a port for the memorycard or charger cannot be found at the side of the device, these are namely placed at the bottom of the slider.

Keyboard
When the Nokia N81 is opened, the comfortable keyboard is revealed. The keys that are used to type SMS messages, MMS messages and e-mails are large enough to type on quite a good speed.

Gaming
The Nokia N81 is made to play Ngage games with. Nokia will not bring any new Ngage phones on the market in the future, but they did cover Ngage with a new jacket. The real Ngage fans can use the N81, and of course also other future N-series devices, to try Ngage games, read reviews about them and buy them later on.
The Nokia N81 is designed in a way that playing games on the mobile phone brings an awesome experience with it. Special buttons are implemented into the device that make playing games even more fun and a lot easier. At the front, at the right side of the navigation key, we first find a small silver button, this button is needed with some games.

At the top of the device, but of cource on the right side of the device when it is held in landscape mode, some extra game keys can also be found. At the top we can find three different keys, which are all placed within one large key. The large key can be moved into two directions, which guarantee two different functions. Furthermore, in the middle of the large black key we find a small silver-coloured button which will can also be used to operate a different function in certain Ngage games. The large key feels quite losse and wobbly, maybe the Finnish manufacturer will adjust this in het final version of the Nokia N81, which will end up in the shops in a short time.

Further multimedia possibilities
The Nokia N81 is, just as every Nokia N-series device, packed with multimedia possibilities. The device has a musicplayer and an FM radio and Nokia standardly delivers a two gigabyte memorycard with her standard N81. With this, the owner can start storing music on his new phone right away. The Nokia N81 8GB will, as the name already predicts, be equipped with eight gigabyte internal memory capacity. Besides this, a stereo headset also comes along with the device, but the owner can also choose to use his own wireless stereo bluetooth headset, this because the Nokia N81 is equipped with stereo bluetooth support.
The Nokia N81 will probably reach the shops within a month, just in time for the christmas sales. Salesprices are not available yet. The full possibilities of the Nokia N81 can be viewed at her specifications page.
