Vodafone and RIM Launch the BlackBerry Solution in the Czech Republic

Research In MotionVodafone and Research In Motion and (RIM) announced the launch of the BlackBerry wireless solution in the Czech Republic. The BlackBerry solution allows customers to gain easy mobile access to email (including attachment viewing), phone, organizer, web, multimedia and a wide variety of business and lifestyle applications. At launch Vodafone OneNet business customers will have a choice between the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and BlackBerry Curve 8310 smartphones.

Vodafone is offering BlackBerry Enterprise Server, targeted specifically for organizations that manage their own email servers. It enables push-based wireless access to email and other applications along with advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is the smallest and lightest BlackBerry smartphone, measuring a mere 107mm x 50mm x 14.5mm and weighing just 89 grams. In addition to supporting phone, email, messaging, organiser, web browser and other mobile applications, the BlackBerry Pearl smartphone also incorporates a digital camera, media player and an expandable memory slot.

The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is the smallest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone, and comes packed with comprehensive multimedia features including an integrated camera as well as built-in GPS (Global Positioning System). The BlackBerry Curve offers a robust blend of communications, multimedia and web features to provide users with an exceptional mobile companion for both work and leisure.

The BlackBerry Enterprise Solution offers advanced security features for business and government organizations. Data transferred between BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry smartphones is encrypted (3DES or AES) and IT departments are provided with a broad range of security-focused capabilities, including the ability to enforce passwords, encrypt data residing on the smartphone and remotely wipe data from lost or stolen smartphones.
