Alcatel-Lucent issues its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Alcatel-LucentAlcatel-Lucent today announced the availability of its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The report underlines Alcatel?Lucent’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and presents the main achievements and initiatives undertaken by the company in 2007.

Patricia Russo, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent stated: “Corporate social responsibility has become a business imperative. For Alcatel-Lucent, CSR is not merely a set of policies: it is a key component of the company’s business strategy. Going forward we will continue to strengthen CSR within our company to meet the expectations of our shareholders, our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we conduct business”.

Alcatel-LucentAlcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU)today announced its plans to showcase its comprehensive WiMAX wireless broadband offerings at the 2008 WiMAX Expo, Taipei & WiMAX Forum Operator Summit. At the event, Alcatel-Lucent will highlight how the company’s turnkey WiMAX radio access networks, applications and services offerings and Open Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Program can enable service providers to start reaping the benefits of wireless broadband today. This event will take place from June 2 to June 6, 2008 at the Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 2 in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital city.

WiMAX enables a new generation of cost-effective wireless broadband networks and business models and offers operators a pathway to 4G. With the increasing demand for high-bandwidth, cost-effective wireless communications services, players in the WiMAX ecosystem are aggressively investing in the technology to quickly establish a rich ecosystem of WiMAX infrastructure, terminal, applications and content suppliers. This in turn is helping to ensure the rapid commercial rollout of the technology and that this technology will have sufficient scale to profitably meet mass market demand.

Motorola Launches Enterprise Wireless Partner Program

MotorolaThe Enterprise Mobility business of Motorola, today announced its Enterprise Wireless Partner Program designed to ensure the best deployment of WLANs for enterprise mobility with the ability of seamless wireless connectivity throughout the enterprise. Motorola has the industry’s most comprehensive wireless portfolio, spanning from Wi-Fi to wireless wide area networking (WWAN) and covering indoors and outdoors to enable the all-wireless enterprise.

Members of the Enterprise Wireless Partner Program will have access to a comprehensive set of resources – including marketing, sales, training and technical benefits – designed to help them win WLAN business, strengthen their WLAN expertise and build a strong relationship with the Motorola Enterprise Mobility business. In addition, members will have preferential access to WLAN product teams, technical support, and the Motorola Enterprise WLAN Division management, as well as first access to pre-qualified Enterprise WLAN leads acquired through Motorola marketing initiatives. New members will focus on the manufacturing, healthcare, education, warehousing, transportation and logistics markets.

Alcatel-LucentAlcatel-Lucent today announced that Marc Benowitz, Director Eco-Environmental Engineering with Alcatel-Lucent’s Chief Technology Office, will deliver a media and analyst tutorial on Caring for the Environment on June 5, 2008 at 4.00 PM Paris time (10:00 AM New York time). Marc will discuss the challenges and opportunities the telecommunications industry faces as eco-sustainability is gaining an increasing amount of attention.

The tutorial takes place during Green Week 2008, an event organized every year in Brussels by the European Commission Directorate General for Environment. Green Week 2008 will last from Tuesday 3rd June until Friday 6th of June. This year, the issue will be the sustainable consumption and production, under the title « Only one earth – don’t waste it! ».
