Verizon Wireless announced today that it has expanded the national rollout of its high-speed wireless data network to Sioux City and portions of western and central Iowa.

Coverage in the Sioux City area extends north to Hinton, south to Salix, east to Correctionville, and west to South Sioux City, Neb. Other communities covered in this network rollout are Le Mars, Denison, Carroll, Harlan, Atlantic, Fort Dodge, and Webster City. In addition the high-speed network is now available in communities where Verizon Wireless has service in the counties of Adair, Audubon, Cass, Guthrie, Madison, Crawford, Harrison, Monona, Shelby, Woodbury, Calhoun, Carroll, Greene, Ida, Sac, Cherokee, Plymouth, Hamilton, Humboldt, Webster, and Wright.

Alcatel-Lucent today announced that PT Excelcomindo (XL), a major cellular provider in Indonesia, has chosen Alcatel-Lucent’s end-to-end solution to provide carrier Ethernet services in Jakarta’s business district.

Alcatel-Lucent’s comprehensive solution will enable XL to offer reliable and differentiated services to its corporate customers, including IP/MPLS-based virtual leased line (VLL) and virtual private LAN (VPLS) services as well as circuit emulation services.

AT&T announced today that it will move its corporate headquarters from San Antonio to Dallas to gain better access to its customers and operations throughout the world, and to the key technology partners, suppliers, innovation and human resources needed as it continues to grow, domestically and internationally.

The move will begin in the coming weeks and is expected to be complete around yearend. It is expected to involve about 700 of the company’s nearly 6,000 San Antonio-based employees.

AT&T will host a Wounded Warriors Luncheon to honor the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army and Bethesda Naval Hospital during the AT&T National, hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, from July 2-6. AT&T will present the wounded soldiers a gift of appreciation to celebrate the Independence Day weekend. While on the course, all wounded soldiers will be provided with special accommodations and hospitality along with dedicated hosts.

Just a few days after hitting store shelves, Samsung Instinct has become the fastest-selling EVDO handset in Sprint history. Instinct was first available exclusively to current Sprint customers on June 19 breaking records for the initial launch of any Sprint product.
