AT&TPrograms honoring members of the U.S. Armed Forces along with plenty of high tech AT&T services and gadgets are on tap to entertain guests on and off the course at the AT&T National, hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, July 2-6.

AT&T will host a Wounded Warriors Luncheon to honor the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army and Bethesda Naval Hospital during the AT&T National, hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, from July 2-6. AT&T will present the wounded soldiers a gift of appreciation to celebrate the Independence Day weekend. While on the course, all wounded soldiers will be provided with special accommodations and hospitality along with dedicated hosts.

AT&T will also commemorate the holiday weekend through its partnership with Cell Phones for Soldiers, an organization established by two Norwell, Massachusetts teenagers to help buy prepaid phone cards to send to U.S. military members who are serving overseas. Fans can drop off an old cell phone at any AT&T company-owned retail store or by picking up a Cell Phones for Soldiers sleeve at the AT&T Digital Clubhouse to mail an old cell phone to the organization for free. The proceeds from the recycled cell phones will be used to purchase prepaid phone cards for military members overseas to call home.

AT&T will also provide a variety of on-and off-course amenities to enhance the overall fan experience. Specifically:

  • The Wireless Caddie from AT&T Five-hundred smart phones will be made available for checkout daily throughout the tournament courses and at the entrances. Spectators will be able to obtain statistics, course maps, pairing and updated tournament scoring.
  • The AT&T Digital Clubhouse Fans are invited to interact with AT&T products and services, get a GolfTEC swing analysis and test their skills in a Long Drive contest at the interactive tent located at the 11th Fairway. At the AT&T Digital Clubhouse, fans also can access AT&T broadband products, check out the latest wireless phones, watch high-definition satellite TV, check e-mail, obtain results of the swing analysis and Long Drive contest on the AT&T blue room. A patio area is also available for viewing the fairway.
  • The AT&T Technology Tent. Located at the Front Nine Grove, the tent will be equipped with AT&T wireless, broadband and satellite TV. Fans will have access to wireless service to place phone calls.

“The tournament promises another year of excitement and great fan experience,” said Jamie Butcher, AT&T vice president of brand sponsorships. “The military presence combined with interactive AT&T technology and the venue at Congressional will make this a truly memorable event.”

Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-594-TIXX or visiting the tournament Web site at www.attnational.org. Daily gallery passes are grounds-only passes and cost $25 Tuesday-Friday and $30 for the tournament’s closing rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Weekly gallery badges ($85) are good-all-week grounds passes and the best overall value. Daily Youth Tickets (for kids 13-17) can be purchased for $10 at the gate. General admission parking is free.

The AT&T National will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation. In addition to serving as the host organization, the Tiger Woods Foundation also plans to expand its programs to the East Coast by bringing the Tiger Woods Learning Center to Washington, D.C.
