AT&T Unveils New Integrated Devices for Texting, Email and More

AT&TText messaging and email are still the ‘killer app’ for mobile phone data use and AT&T is responding with a great new lineup of phones for the Spring season. AT&T today announced a fresh new lineup of smartphones and quick messaging phones that make it easier for customers to message with friends and family and manage their business and personal lives on-the-go. Arriving in AT&T stores and online at www.wireless.att.com in the coming weeks, these integrated devices add to AT&T’s leading mobile phone portfolio.

In the smartphone category, AT&T debuted the Nokia E71x and the Samsung Propel™ Pro, two stylish smartphones that inspire fun, while delivering serious functionality. In addition, the Samsung Impression™ and Samsung Magnet™, and LG Xenon and Neon emerge to the lead AT&T’s lineup of quick messaging phones and expands the number of full-keyboard mobile phones in AT&T’s lineup to seven. AT&TBAE Systems Land and Armaments, an operating group within BAE Systems, a global defense and aerospace contractor, is enhancing their global collaboration and productivity with AT&T’s Telepresence Solution. Under a new $5 million, three-year contract with AT&T, BAE Systems Land & Armaments will use the AT&T Telepresence Solution to provide an “in-person” meeting experience with leadership teams and engineering teams across the U.S. and the United Kingdom. This capability will be expanded to Sweden, South Africa and other regions in the future.

With AT&T Telepresence Solution, BAE Systems Land and Armament employees will be able to sit across the table from “actual-size” video of colleagues around the world on ultra-high definition 1080p screens with spatial, wide-band audio and communicate real-time across AT&T’s reliable network. In addition, with the AT&T Business Exchange technology, BAE Systems Land and Armaments will be able to conduct multipoint meetings beyond the enterprise boundary to help enable meetings with customers, suppliers and partners.

AT&TAT&T today announced a new feature that will allow companies to connect their existing videoconferencing systems to the industry-leading AT&T Telepresence Solution, a fully-managed solution enabled by Cisco TelePresence™. AT&T also announced plans to double the number of Cisco TelePresence rooms deployed at AT&T locations throughout the United States and globally, and said that new rooms in its London and Hong Kong offices are already up and running.

New Telepresence Interoperability Feature: Cost Effective and Innovative

By the end of 2Q 2009, companies will be able to connect their existing H.323 compatible legacy videoconferencing systems with the AT&T Telepresence Solution, offering a cost-effective solution to leverage historically under-utilized systems. With this new feature for intra-company conferencing, existing SD (standard definition) or Internet Protocol-based videoconferencing systems will participate as an end-point when a Cisco TelePresence session begins. Companies that have made prior investments in video-conferencing technology will now be able to use their technology with the AT&T Telepresence Solution to extend the life of their legacy system, while taking advantage of the high quality “in-room” experience that Cisco TelePresence offers.

Ericsson to host Royal visit in Rio de Janeiro

EricssonEricsson will be hosting a visit by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Rio de Janeiro, to coincide with the Volvo Ocean Race stopover in the city. The program will include participation in Ericsson’s customer activities as well as sailing onboard one of Ericsson’s two boats in the upcoming In-Port race on April 4, 2009.

The Volvo Ocean Race provides Ericsson with an unrivalled opportunity to meet with customers and partners in key markets. It is a way to showcase Ericsson’s technology leadership and innovation while engaging in discussions with customers around the world.
