LG ARENA Wows the Mobile World by Hitting One Million Sales

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, announced today that the LG ARENA (LG-KM900) multimedia phone has exceeded one million sales worldwide. The ARENA reached the milestone in just five months after debuting at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February, reinforcing its stature as a premium handset.

Nokia brings mobile financial services to millions

NokiaNokia today introduced Nokia Money, a new mobile financial service offering consumers with mobile device access to basic financial services. For many consumers, this will be the first time they have had any access to such financial services.

Nokia Money has been designed to be as simple and convenient as making a voice call or sending an SMS. It will enable consumers to send money to another person just by using the person’s mobile phone number, as well as to pay merchants for goods and services, pay their utility bills, or recharge their prepaid SIM cards (SIM top-up). The services can be accessed 24 hours a day from anywhere, meaning savings in travel costs and time. Nokia is building a wide network of Nokia Money agents, where consumers can deposit money in or withdraw cash from their accounts.

With the Nokia 5230, consumers can get new content, be it songs from the Nokia Music Store or apps, games, videos and other services from the Ovi Store, directly from their phones. The solutions offering is complemented by A-GPS navigation and the latest version of Ovi Maps with aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities and terrain map views for pedestrian and drive navigation.

Having undergone rigorous testing at Aspect Labs and SERTIT, Motorola’s wireless switch/controller is the only such solution validated at both FIPS 140-2 Level2 and Common Criteria EAL4 with the U.S. Government Wireless LAN Access System Protection Profile for basic robustness environments.

The RFS7000-GR is part of Motorola’s award-winning family of high-performance, multi-core processor-based wireless LAN (WLAN) switch/controllers targeted at large enterprise and government wireless deployments. As these certifications extend to Motorola access ports, customers can build highly secure wireless LANs that are Common Criteria EAL4 and FIPS 140-2 compliant from the mobile user’s handset to the access port and to the RFS7000-GR switch/controller.
