Verizon Wireless, builder and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless network, today announced the enV(2)™ by LG will be available on April 30 at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores across the nation. The new phone, revealed at CTIA WIRELESS 2008, features a sophisticated, slim redesign of the original enV by LG and will also be sold at Circuit City and online at www.verizonwireless.com.

Nokia today unveiled a trio of mobile devices that balance stunning and sophisticated looks with the latest in mobile functionality. All three devices, the Nokia 6600 fold, the Nokia 6600 slide and the Nokia 3600 slide present a smooth, minimalist design and an appealing array of easy-to-use features. The devices range in price from 175 EUR to 275 EUR before taxes and subsidies and are expected to start shipping during the third quarter of 2008.

Nokia today introduced two new music-enabled devices as additions to its XpressMusic range. The new Nokia 5320 XpressMusic and Nokia 5220 XpressMusic offer a range of affordable music and entertainment experiences with the most fresh, stylish designs on the market. Both music devices are expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2008, with an expected retail price range of 160 to 220 EUR, before taxes and subsidies.

NFC-enabled handset offers new and easy ways to access and share content

Nokia today introduced the Nokia 6212 classic featuring integrated Near Field Communication (NFC). The 3G handset allows consumers to conveniently share content, access services and information as well as conduct payments and ticketing with one tap of the device. The Nokia 6212 classic is expected to start shipping in the third quarter of 2008 in select markets in Europe and Asia with an estimated retail price of EUR 200 before taxes and subsidies.

“NFC-capable handsets such as the Nokia 6212 classic are set to change the way mobile phone users interact with devices and services in their surroundings,” says Jeremy Belostock, the Head of Near Field Communications, Nokia. “With the Nokia 6212 classic, people can swap items like business cards or calendar notes by simply tapping their handsets together. At the Growing Together 2008 conference held today in Johannesburg, Nokia revealed new products that accelerate the company’s leadership in emerging markets. Also introduced today was a local mobile email solution exclusively for people in South Africa. Highlighted by the Nokia 5000, which offers a 1.3 megapixel camera and a large QVGA display - Nokia’s first megapixel cameraphone at this price point - as well as music and email capabilities, each new product brings a balance of features, design and affordability to meet every lifestyle and budget. The new mobile devices are expected to begin shipping by the third quarter, with an expected price range from EUR 50 to EUR 90, before applicable taxes or subsidies.

With the industry’s largest portfolio of mobile phones and support for more than 80 languages, more than one billion people worldwide currently use a Nokia device. In recent years, the majority of first-time buyers have come from the emerging markets. However, a significant shift is underway - while the first-time buyer market continues to grow, the number of replacement buyers- consumers seeking to replace their current mobile phone with a newer, more advanced model - has also grown substantially in emerging markets. In 2008, Nokia anticipates that for the first time, the number of replacement purchases in emerging markets will exceed those of first-time buyers.

From CTIA WIRELESS 2008, Verizon Wireless, the owner and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, and Networks In Motion (NIM), the award-winning wireless navigation and hyper-local search company, announced today that the newest version of VZ Navigator(SM) will be available in April on select consumer phones and Windows Mobile devices. With the new VZ Navigator (Version 4), customers in 75 cities from coast to coast will be able to access traffic incidents, traffic updates and find detours around traffic congestion and accidents; more cities are expected to be added in the coming year.
