No Comments »When FCC site site first revealed the E-Ten Glofiish X800 Pocket PC Phone I checked the specs and really liked them. As I said then, “about the only thing missing about X800 is QWERTY keyboard.
Well, the powers that be must have been listening and produced another cool GPS Pocket PC Phone – E-ten Glofiish M800, with all the goodies that X800 had and QWERTY keyboard as well:

Specwise, Glofiish M800 is almost the same as X800, except that the keyboard ads some additional weight (~40 gr) and thickness (~3mm).
Full E-Ten Glofiish M800 specs include:
Well, it looks like we have one interesting phone on our hands, and it should be a serious competition to HTC TyTN II PDA phone.
We waited, and waited, and waited — no announcement from AT&T yet — but we secured a Pantech Duo, live and in the flesh! First off, the device is really small. The keyboard is worlds better than the Helio Ocean, and while it might not be fair to compare it to the Ocean, it is more or less the same concept. 3G on here is such a pleasure, and while we’re not talking about Windows Mobile 6 Professional, Standard works just fine for this little handset. Battery life is a concern, especially with a 3G radio, but since we just got it we don’t have a real gage on battery performance. Voice quality and sound quality sounded crisp and clear as well. Final note: if you saw the Pantech Duo dummy display unit, you’ll notice the device slide out both ways simultaneously. Not the case on the real unit because of the spring mechanism. Not too bad for a device we called out a year ago, right?
I think it’s safe to say the cat is out of the bag now. According to Dutch website pocketinfo.nl, the HTC smartphone, we knew so far under its codename “HTC Polaris”, will hit the shops as “HTC Touch Cruise” and pocketinfo.net also got the specs confirmed. Therefore, the HTC Polaris will sports Windows Mobile 6 Professional and features a Qualcomm MSM7200 CPU at 400 MHz.
Furthermore, the Polaris will supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA and even HSUPA and for sure Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi b/g. The device is baked-up with 128 MB of RAM and 256 MB of ROM and the 2.8″ touchscreen supports QVGA. On the back, we have – as seen before already – a 3 megapixel camera (which is said to be auto focus) plus the secondary 0.3 megapixel camera on the front.
Furthermore, someone at “What A Smart Idea” recently got his hands on a real HTC Polaris and posted a couple of high quality pictures:
The photos above confirms, that the HTC Polaris will indeed features HTC’s TouchFLO technology as expected.
According to pocketinfo.nl, the HTC Touch Cruise will be released in November.
