Well, QKfone W800 phone/watch was a nice idea.
But you know what’s the main problem with these kinds of phones is? It’s their size. If you want to have any kind of advanced functionality from such a watch/phone, you’ll end up with a big big bulb on your wrist. And forget about numeric keypad and/or convenient data entry!
So the best you can expect for your hybrid watch to remain actually usable - is a Bluetooth remote control like Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Bluetooth Watch.
Or maybe not? Samsung has quite an interesting idea of how to make your wrist watch/phone hybrid actually small enough and easy to use:

The first, detachable one, contains all the things that makes the phone usable - screen, keypad, speaker, microphone, camera, small battery and Bluetooth or UWB communication chip.
The second one, located on the wristband has the rest. 2.5/3G communications chipset, main battery, application processors, etc.
All the real communication/processing work is done here and, when the first part is detached, the data is transmitted via Bluetooth or UWB
No Comments »If this leaked shot of a Roger’s ad turns out to be legit, we shall see the iPhone hit Canada on December, 7th. It should sell for $499CAD on a 3-year contract, and we’re guessing it will be the 8GB model.

We were told that since there is this little trademark dispute over the iPhone name in Canada, this might not be a final image, but it does look pretty polished. It also appears pre-orders will start November the 20th, but again, huge unconfirmed bit here, so take it as you will…
Mobile Phone Helpdesk already wrote about the rumoured Apple iPhone Nano. Today, the first living photos of the iPhone Nano showed up at Gadgetzone. Is this device fake and or does Apple really think about bringing an iPhone Nano to the market? A clear confirmation of the device has not been given yet, but we can conclude that the photos of the iPhone Nano look a lot like the regular Apple iPhone.

At this moment, the Apple iPhone Nano is more a rumour than reality. Is the device on the photo for real or is it fake? Will this device offer 3G functionality or onlu 2G just as with the Apple iPhone? These questions will probably not be answered any time soon.
Word on the streets is that we could see that amazing smartphone stateside sometime soon. The rumor states that Verizon might be the carrier of the “Croix” that the Jesus-Phone gets nailed to, that was a bad pun, I’m going to hell for that one.

RIM is planing to release Blackberry 9900, Blackberry 9300 (9310, 9320, 9330) and Blackberry 9100 (9110, 9120 , 9130) sometime.
How do we know that? Well, because someone somewhere heard the rumors that these devices are coming and told someone who posted it on the net.
And, also, Research in Motion just told us so themselves, by registering following domain names:
blackberry9900.com
blackberry9100.com
blackberry9110.com
blackberry9120.com
blackberry9130.com
blackberry9310.com
blackberry9320.com
blackberry9330.com
You don’t need to register a domain if you don’t plan to have a device, do you?
Quick Whois look-up shows that most of the domains with concrete model numbers have been registered in October. The series domains few months earlier.
And it looks like RIMM missed Blackberry9300.com domain, which for now is owned by a person with a bunch of other Blackberr9×00.com domains to his name as well.
Take the following info with a necessary grain of salt since there is no further confirmation. But over at the treocentral.com forums, a user has posted a rendering of a device he calls the Palm Treo 800w and which he got it from a solutions engineer at Sprint (which means the Treo 800w would be a CDMA device).
Doesn’t looks to bad, if you ask me. Either it’s true and in this case Palm did a good job or it’s a fake which means Palm should hire the artist for its next like of Windows Mobile smartphones:

Again, everything above is pure speculation at this point (including the screenshot which shows WiFi) but if the device above turns out to be true, Palm definitely made a good job. 320 x 320 would be appreciated and the overall design and layout of the device isn’t too bad either.
Expect a release - if true - in 2008; there is nothing more planned for 2007.
For most, Motorola’s booth at the Symbian Smartphone show has just been a place to look at all kinds of stuntmen. However, due to an insider tip, we were made aware of a Motorola concept phone being on-site. The phone is a kick-slide, runs UIQ without touchscreen and has a 3.2MP camera:

This device is said to be the successor to the Z8; the main feature that was highlighted at the show was its “video slideshow” capability. This essentially is a bit of software that allows you to stitch together movies, text and images into a custom presentation; and save the presentation as a video.
As of now, getting pictures of the box is impossible officially - these images were shot using 5x zoom from approx 10 metes away. Motorola folks refused to give any information about the device…
We all know that a 16 GB version of the iPhone will be shipping in the future but these are the first pics of the device provided they are real. I don’t think anyone would fabricate these pics…I see no point so I think that the pics are legit.
At the end of August Nokia has caused a lot of turbulence at her press conference in London where Nokia showed a touchscreen device. The speculations about the device, which was eventually not announced at the pressconference, almost overruled the real introduction of the Nokia N81 and the Nokia N95 8GB at this day. Until now there are still speculations about the touchscreen device from the Nokia video.
A highly informed source has confessed to Mobile PHone Helpdesk that Nokia is developing a touchscreen device. Nokia has been developing this device for over three years now. The video of the touchscreen device that Nokia showed at the pressconference is more than 2.5 years old according to our source and since then it has had a huge make-over concerning appearance, software and interface.
At the Symbian Smartphone Show today, which is held these days in London, a highly remarkable touchscreen device was shown to the public again. The device in the video did not carry a brand but it will probably concern a recent variant of the concept device of Nokia, which could be Nokia’s answer to the iPhone.
At Nokia’s pressconference at the 29th of AUgust this year, Nokia announced a toally new interface for future Nokia devices. The unknown device that Symbian showed at her presentation is equipped with a highly progressive interface which looks a lot like the recently announced Nokia interface.
It sounded too good to be true to start with, and now, recent rumors state that the leaked images and specifications for some upcoming great Motorola mobile phones have all chances of being false.
This latest information has just as many chances of being true, but everybody might be inclined to trust the first rumors, as they were much more appealing. According to them, the handset producer announced during a presentation in Amsterdam its lineup for the beginning of next year. It also presented some pictures of the devices that should soon hit the market and someone seemed to have managed to take some blurry captures, although shooting photos was not allowed.
From this story, everybody’s interest got caught by the possibility of seeing the Skarven and its 8 megapixel camera out on the market as soon as possible. The next impressive device was the Motorola X Pixl, which was supposed to come with a 5 megapixel camera, a performance that few handsets are already capable of providing. Aside these two, also came the Genghis business smartphone and Motorola E10 Texel, a powerful music phone.
Chances are that Motorola itself contributed to the release of these leaked images and specifications, be they real or not. The handset producer desperately needed something to rouse the audience’s interest in their following mobile phone releases, although this might not have been the best solution.
It looks like there is no 8 megapixel phone currently being worked on in Motorola Labs. Moreover, the 5 megapixel Kodak lens camera phone is still in the testing phase, with a much longer time left before hitting the market than previously expected.
Everybody would love to find out that the four leaked phones were, after all, real. Motorola should break the tension with an official announcement on their future unveiling, or a release taking stand on the matter.
