Unknown innovative Alcatel found

Posted by Newsman @ 12:02 am

An official confirmation of the Alcatel One Touch T608 is not received yet, as is the confirmation that the device will even come to Europe might it really come out. Alcatel does not bring all her phones to every market in Europe and that could explain that this device will never come to every country in Europe. If Alcatel will bring her One Touch T608 to Europe is not known yet, but we do know that this device is special and that it offers a very significant design.

The Alcatel One Touch T608 does not look like the wellknown monoblock prepaid models as we are used to with Alcatel. However, the Alcatel One Touch T608 is not a prepaid model at all but it will be focussed on the middle section of the market. This can be seen in one glance when we look at the specifications that the device offers, under which we find a 2 megapixel camera and a memory that is expandable up to one gigabyte.

The thing that first caught our eye is the extremely large display that the Alcatel One Touch T608 offers. According to the first messages, this display would be a 2.8 inch 262144 colours display, which is promising for the current standards. Besides the large display the significant placement of the keys catches our attention, they are not placed in the middle of the device as is normal nowadays, but it is placed at the left side of the Alcatel One Touch T608.

The Alcatel One Touch T608 will be a real multimedia killer for the middle section of the market. Besides the 2 megapixel camera with several functions a handy musicplayer will also be present and that will feel good for the music lover. In order to empower the musical feeling, Alcatel placed two large speakers at the back of het OT T608 and this enables the user to play his music over the stereo speakers.

Besides earlier mentioned functions, the Alcatel One Touch T608 also offers some other handy possibilities. Among these functions we can find bluetooth support that is used for sending files in an easy way. A businesscard scanner is also implemented, as is the possibility to download your favourite games due to the Java support.

Whether all of this will be too good to be true for the European market or whether it is all too good to be true at all is something we will have to wait for. When more information is available about the Alcatel One Touch T608 Mobile Phone Helpdesk will keep you informed.

Is Dopod C750 the HTC Juno?

Posted by Newsman @ 01:21 pm

Today IT168 posted a new Dopod C750 Windows Mobile smartphone, which is most likely the HTC Juno we saw in the rumor reports in the past few months. The Dopod C750 is said to have a VGA resolution display screen, the 480 x 640 pixel is one of the highest resolution in the current smartphone line up.

The Dopod C750 has a QWERTY keyboard on its slider body. It is not sure how fast you can go by having 2 character on the same key. The slider phone has a 2.6-inch display screen (480 x 640), though it will only output 65K colors. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard and a OMAP850 201 MHz CPU, the phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera, mini-USB connector, microSD card slot and stereo speaker. The C750 will be available in November according to the report.

Bluetooth SIG unveils the HTC Kii Windows Mobile Smartphone

Posted by Newsman @ 11:18 am

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) just unveiled another so far unknown HTC smartphone, the “HTC Kii” which must be - according to the Bluetooth SIG documents - a non-touch screen Windows Mobile Standard smartphone (because it is listed as a “Smart Phone”, like the HTC Breeze or HTC Vox).

Basically nothing else is known about the device but since it’s from HTC it can be expected to sport any version of Windows Mobile Standard and it’s confirmed that the HTC Kii supports Bluetooth 2.0+EDR:

While I have no idea or further information what the HTC Kii is about, the recently announced Vodafone 920 comes into my mind as a possible smartphone since we don’t have the code name for this smartphone yet and it’s the only device without any further information.

But generally, further features and a possible release date are unknown yet.

Leaked pics of Sony Ericsson W880 successor

Posted by Newsman @ 11:47 pm

This is not officially the W880 successor, but we are just guessing. It has a very similar design and looks to be as thin as the W880.

It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera on the back (it is unclear if it has AF), front cam for video calls and a lovely big screen (which was missing in the W880).

Google Gphone still on the way, say sources

Posted by Newsman @ 06:13 pm

Google will definitely launch its own-brand handset but has yet to finalize the handset’s specifications, OS, production contractor and operating partners, according to sources at Taiwan handset makers.

Although market rumors previously stated that Google is likely to use an EDGE solution developed by Texas Instruments (TI) for its planned handset, recent developments indicate that Google is also evaluating the possibility of launching a 3G handset initially.

TI’s handset chipsets will find their way into the Google phone should the company decide to roll out an EDGE-compliant handset, but Qualcomm could turn out to be the winner if Google decides to bet on a 3G model, the sources noted.

However, the choice of a 3G platform might force Google to postpone the launch of the so-called Gphone to the first half of 2008 instead of the latter half of this year as expected due to the change of platform and problems related to licensing of patented technologies, the sources indicated.

High Tech Computer (HTC), meanwhile, is being marked as the manufacturing contractor for the Gphone due to the company’s expertise in ODM and brand business and its mutual cooperation with a number of telecom carriers worldwide, said the sources.

Google may also try to launch a handset running on a self-developed OS, to compete with Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms, the sources speculated.

Nokia 8900 - Follower Nokia 8600 comes watching

Posted by Newsman @ 10:53 am

The follower of the Nokia 8600 Luna, the Nokia 8900, today showed her handsome face for the first time. With more specifications and an even more exclusive appearance, the 8900 has a lot to offer.

The Nokia 8600 is a real model among the Nokia devices. The appearance of the device is truly breathtaking, but this cannot be said about the functions of the device. The Nokia 8900 could change this judgement because this slider is also functional besides its beauty.

The Nokia 8900 is a lot alike the Nokia 8600 Luna, which has been available for some time now. First of all are both devices made out of black materials with a silver lining and both devices offer a black tinted glass cover that covers the keys of the device when they are not used. The display of the Nokia 8900 has not improved when compared to the Nokia 8600 and this is not that strange because it cannot get any better. The display namely is a 16 million colours TFT display and a better one is simply not on the market yet.

Besides the same outsides, the Nokia 8900 is also equipped with the exact same keys as the Nokia 8600 Luna. One point on which the Nokia 8900 has changed is the camera quality. Where the Nokia 8600 Luna had to do with a 2 megapixel camera, the Nokia 8900 will most likely offer a 3.2 megapixel camera. Something that is very distinctive about the Nokia 8900 is that a small extra VGA camera is placed at the front of the device and this not only indicates that the device can make videocalls. It also says something about the network support and that the Nokia 8900 will offer UMTS functionality. This will be a huge improvement compared to the Nokia 8600 Luna, which surfs the internet with only a GPRS connection.

It is clear that the Nokia 8900 is a real design device but is also good to see that the device is now equipped with somewhat better functions. In this case, the device will not only be pretty but functional too. Nokia has not officially announced or confirmed her 8900 but if they do Mobile Phone Helpdesk will keep you informed.
