The Roomplace Selects AT&T for Network Services

AT&TAT&T announced a new contract to provide network services to The RoomPlace. The Lombard-based company operates 22 stores in Chicago, suburban Chicago and Indiana.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as The RoomPlace’s primary network and data transport services provider. AT&T will equip 27 sites in all, including hosted data and disaster recovery centers and a state-of-the-art distribution center, by using AT&T’s Multiprotocol Label Switching Private Network Transport (MPLS PNT) service and Ethernet Dedicated Internet Access on AT&T’s OPT-E-MAN® service, a switched Ethernet service.

AT&T Announces New Contract with West Suburban Bank

AT&TAT&T announced a new three-year network service contract with West Suburban Bank. Based in Lombard, West Suburban Bank is a community banking company with 34 locations throughout Illinois.

Under terms of the contract, AT&T will serve as the primary service provider for West Suburban Bank, delivering AT&T OPT-E-MAN® service, a custom switched Ethernet service to connect multiple sites. The OPT-E-MAN optical transport solution will be used by West Suburban Bank to enhance Internet access and other real-time communication among its locations and with its customers.

AT&T Wins $1.6 Billion Global Deal with Shell

AT&TAT&T announced that Royal Dutch Shell (Shell) has selected AT&T to be its global provider of advanced communications services. The five year agreement, estimated to be worth $1.6 billion, calls for AT&T to provide, manage and maintain Shell’s worldwide communications infrastructure while also managing the company’s global mobility needs. It is one of the largest commercial contracts ever signed by AT&T, and it’s the largest agreement signed with a company that is headquartered in Europe. The agreement is one of three outsourcing contracts signed by Shell with key suppliers for networking and IT services.

This agreement with Shell follows a series of other large and strategic wins AT&T has secured in the past year, including deals with Starbucks, General Motors, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and IBM. All of these wins underscore AT&T’s position as the leading global telecommunications service provider within the industry. The agreements with GM and the Department of the Treasury are each worth up to $1 billion; the IBM agreement is worth up to $5 billion.

AT&T to Provide Paltalk with Broader Data Hosting Services

AT&TAT&T announced an extended and expanded contract with Paltalk, a leading real-time, video-based online community. Under the new contract, AT&T will provide expanded enterprise hosting and voice services to support the company’s subscriber base and interactive capabilities. AT&T and Paltalk are continuing a strong relationship that has spanned more than seven years.

AT&T Enterprise Hosting Services will provide uninterrupted access and increased bandwidth to deliver an unmatched user experience — among interactive chat, video and audio applications — on Paltalk’s online community. Given the global presence that Paltalk has established, the company has realized an increased need to have AT&T support larger volumes of data that come with users accessing Paltalk’s feature-rich online community from around the world.
